Trillien®
Trillien: Real Time Preprocessors for "Computer Vision Everywhere"®
Trillien, Tandent's revolutionary illumination preprocessor, solves the fundamental problem of recognizing the stability of surfaces under varying illumination. Operating between image capture and existing computer visions systems, Trillien provides direct access to scene reflectances and illumination. By replacing normal input images with preprocessed images, Trillien dramatically improves the real-world performance of most computer vision systems.

About Tandent Vision Science®
-
Tandent Vision Science was founded in January 2005 to solve fundamental problems in computer vision.
-
- Although there have been tremendous advancements in computer vision in recent years, the field remains largely an academic discipline. One important problem limiting proliferation of existing commercial products as well as commercial deployment of academic systems is that both generally require controlled illumination to stabilize the appearance of the targets they seek to identify. In the fields of face recognition, object recognition, mobile robotics, industrial inspection, current technologies simply cannot cope with the spatial, spectral and temporal variation in illumination that is found ubiquitously in the real world.
-
The Trillien products are a major breakthrough for the field of computer vision because it completely eliminates the need for special lighting and enables the deployment of computer vision everywhere. Trillien demonstrates our commitment to helping solve the foundational problems of computer vision and to contributing to the emergence of this important new industry.
